That's a great point. It's so easy to forget the little things that make a big difference over time. Underinflated tires are a major drag on fuel efficiency, and just checking once a month is a great way to improve gas mileage and an easy way to save money.

Not only that, but you'll know a lot sooner when you have a slow leak or a damaged tire. It's far too easy to pick up a sharp object like a nail in the tire and not even know it. That happened to me on my Rendezvous the first month I had it. By checking your tire pressure, not only will your fuel mileage improve, but you'll end up with a much safer vehicle in the long run, and make your tires last longer too.

I like being able to research new ways to save on gas and I think you make a good point here. Another way, that is easy and cheap, is to keep your tires inflated to max air pressure. I check them each time I fill up and have seen an increase in 4-5 mpg over the last month alone.
